The Community Peace Mediators (CPMs), an initiative supported by Women for Women International (WfWI), continue to achieve notable successes in resolving conflicts through dialogue in Bauchi State, Nigeria.
In January, the CPM groups in the Miri community of Bauchi Local Government Area and Kafin Madaki in Ganjuwa Local Government Area held feedback and interaction meetings to evaluate their progress over the past month.
According to a statement by Sule Joseph, WfWI’s Communication Officer in Bauchi, the Miri community mediators successfully resolved nine cases, with one case still under review.
Similarly, the Kafin Madaki mediators reported resolving 13 cases.
These achievements underscore the CPMs’ dedication to fostering peace and addressing conflicts effectively within their communities.
Joseph commended the mediators for their commitment, stating, “Their efforts have significantly contributed to fostering a peaceful and cohesive community.”
This initiative, supported by Women for Women International, demonstrates the organization’s broader mission of empowering communities and promoting sustainable peace through grassroots engagement and conflict resolution strategies.
