Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has bolstered the state’s waste management capabilities with the procurement of 10 heavy-duty refuse evacuation trucks and 3 payloader excavators. This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to improve environmental sanitation across the state.
The new equipment, which is expected to be deployed immediately, aims to address the long-standing waste management challenges in key areas. Governor Yusuf’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, confirmed that the trucks and excavators would significantly enhance the efficiency of waste collection and disposal.
At the official presentation of the equipment, the Honorable Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Dahir Hashim, emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a cleaner, healthier environment. He noted that the new machines would not only help in waste management but also play a role in reducing environmental pollution and combating the effects of climate change.
Governor Yusuf reiterated the administration’s dedication to sustainable environmental practices and called on residents to support the government’s efforts by adhering to proper waste disposal habits.
