In a bid to enhance digital skills and promote economic self-reliance, over 100 youths from Edu, Moro, and Patigi local government areas of Kwara State have been empowered with ICT training, laptops, and startup capital to launch their own businesses.

The initiative, organized by the National Board for Technology Incubation in collaboration with Creed Tech Engineering Limited, was facilitated by Hon. Ahmed Saba, the member representing Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency.
Speaking at the event, Saba, represented by his Personal Assistant, Mallam Mohammed Salihu, emphasized that the empowerment program was open to all youths in the constituency, regardless of political or ethnic background.

“This second phase of training aims to expand opportunities for more beneficiaries and contribute to poverty reduction. The world is now a global village, and our youths must not be left behind,” Saba stated.
Program Coordinator, Mr. Ugochukwu Ogbonna, described the initiative as a “dividend of democracy” and urged beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity to enhance their ICT skills and achieve self-reliance.
He advised them against selling the laptops, stressing that the devices could be used to build digital businesses from home.

Mohammed Maji Rifun, former Commissioner for Commerce and Business Innovations, who spoke on behalf of elders in the constituency, commended the initiative, calling it a valuable investment in the future of the youth. He encouraged the beneficiaries to utilize the opportunity to improve their livelihoods.
The initiative is expected to create job opportunities and boost digital literacy in the constituency, equipping youths with the tools needed to thrive in the digital economy.
