Hon. Ahmed Adamu-Saba, the lawmaker representing Edu, Moro, and Patigi local government areas in Kwara State, has provided food packages and cash grants to 15,000 vulnerable residents as part of his Ramadan relief effort.

The initiative, valued at over N30 million, is designed to ease the economic strain faced by many during the Ramadan fasting period.

Speaking during the distribution, Adamu-Saba emphasized that the relief effort was intended for all residents, regardless of political or religious affiliation.

“This support is for every resident in need, regardless of their background. Ramadan is a time of compassion, and we must all look out for one another,” he stated.

In addition to the initial relief package, the lawmaker announced an additional N10 million allocation to ensure more families benefit from the initiative.

He linked the program to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes social welfare and assistance to the less fortunate.

Beyond the immediate relief, Adamu-Saba outlined his long-term vision for the empowerment of youths and women in the constituency, noting that vocational training would play a key role in tackling poverty and promoting self-reliance.

“Empowerment remains the key to tackling poverty. Our goal is to provide the necessary training so that our people can become self-reliant,” he added.

A community elder, Alhaji Mohammed Kudu-Dumagi, praised the initiative as timely and beneficial for struggling families.

He urged beneficiaries to make good use of the support rather than resell the items. “This is a rare opportunity to ease the hardship many families are facing. It should be put to good use,” Kudu-Dumagi advised.

Many residents expressed their gratitude for the assistance, calling it a lifeline during these challenging economic times.
