Kona sons and daughters in Taraba State have been encouraged to pray for the progress of their ethnic group and the state.

This was the central message at the 2024 Jukun Kona Prayer event, which took place at the Government Day Secondary School in Kona Garu, Jalingo Local Government Area.
Kuru Kona Augustine, a royal father, emphasized that the event was aimed at seeking God’s guidance in the lives of Kona sons and daughters.

He commended the people of Kona for participating in the spiritual exercise and reminded them of the power of prayer.
Augustina Godwin, the Commissioner for the Ministry of Education, praised the event organizers for their efforts over the years in strengthening the bonds and commitment to serving God.
Aminu Jauro Hassan, the Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Council, expressed his admiration for the Kona people for setting aside a day to pray for the progress of the land.

He assured the participants that the Local Government Council would continue to support the event’s success.
Earlier, Reverend Father Ibrahim Yahaya, the representative of the Chairman of the planning committee, mentioned that the event has been held annually since 2016, with the aim of seeking God’s blessings and guidance.
He also appreciated those who participated in fasting and morning Mass for the intentions of the Kona ethnic group.

The event featured prayers, dances, and performances by talented Kona youths, further showcasing the community’s unity and commitment to their spiritual growth.
