CRESAL, consider Mayo-Gwoi Micro-Catchment Management Plan – Jalingo LGA, Chairman

Hon. Dr. Aminu Jauro Hassan, the Executive Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Council (LGC), Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Taraba State, and National ALGON Welfare Officer, participated in the Agro Climate Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACRESAL) stakeholders’ engagement event.

The engagement, centered on the Mayo-Gwoi Micro-Catchment Management Plan, focused on fostering sustainable landscape management practices in semi-arid regions.

The plan aims to enhance climate resilience while addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable land-use practices in the area.

Dr. Hassan’s active participation emphasized his unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and climate change mitigation efforts in Taraba State.

His leadership and support for initiatives like ACRESAL align with his dedication to improving the livelihoods of his constituents through sustainable development.

Funded by the World Bank, the ACRESAL project addresses pressing issues of land degradation and climate change, particularly in northern Nigeria.

The stakeholders’ engagement served as a platform for discussions and collaborations on strategies to implement the Mayo-Gwoi Micro-Catchment Management Plan effectively.
