The Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Council, Taraba State, Hon. Dr. Aminu Jauro Hassan, has received the leadership of the Taraba State Muslim Pilgrimage Board on a courtesy visit.

The delegation, led by Alh. Armaya’u Maihanci, visited to seek Dr. Hassan’s support in educating local government chairmen and the general public on the importance of using official payment channels for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage. They emphasized that all payments should be made through the designated center officer or directly to the pilgrimage office, rather than through unregistered agents.
The officials highlighted the risks associated with unauthorized agents, warning that such transactions could lead to complications and financial losses for intending pilgrims.

In his response, Dr. Hassan expressed appreciation for the visit and assured the committee of his commitment to raising awareness about proper payment procedures. He pledged to inform local government chairmen and eligible pilgrims about the official payment channels to ensure transparency and security. Additionally, he urged intending pilgrims to make timely payments to avoid any inconveniences.

Dr. Hassan also commended the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for appointing knowledgeable and credible officials to the Muslim Pilgrimage Board—a first of its kind in the state. He noted that this initiative would facilitate the smooth organization of the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage for pilgrims from Taraba State.
