Kano Speaker Pledges Commitment Towards Uplifting Educational Institutions

Kano State House of Assembly Speaker in North West Nigeria Jibril Ismail Falgore has expressed his unwavering commitment towards uplifting educational standards across the state.

The speaker gave the reassurance when the Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, and his team visited him at the University.

Falgore said, Kano Assembly is more than ready to deliver good legislation aimed at improving the standards in the educational sector.

Falgore explained that, as the legislative arm, the Kano Assembly would explore other means to partner with relevant stakeholders like BUK to solve challenges confronting educational institutions in Kano State.

The Kano speaker commended the Vice-Chancellor’s team the visit, describing it as one of a kind, while appealing to them to continue doing the right thing in order to change the narrative.

Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University Kano, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, emphasized the need for synergy with the Kano Assembly in areas of quality legislation aimed at improving the development of the educational sector.

Highlighting the track record of Bayero University Kano amidst other universities across Nigeria and the world, Prof. Sagir said that there are more than 18,000 Kano State indigenes in the university.

In terms of ratings, the VC said, BUK is fifth in the national ranking.
