The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Taraba State Command has today Thursday 9, 2024 paraded three 3 adult males for armed robbery in Jalingo the state capital.

The suspects were arrested following a tip-off yesterday at the School of Nursing and Midwifery Yagai, Jalingo. The suspects were said to have operated between 3 am and 4 am on Wednesday.
The gang of four men was busted when an anonymous source informed men of the NSCDC about the activities of the gang around the Nursing School where they were using weapons to force residents of the area to part with their belongings.
On receiving the information, men of the NSCDC Jalingo Division hurried to the scene and were able to round up three 3 out of the four men who participated in the robbery.
According to NSCDC, the suspects arrested included; Mustapha Abubakar 30 the gang leader, Suleiman Bello 39, and Aliyu Abubakar 27. The suspects confessed to breaking into two different houses and robbing them of their properties.
Items recovered from the suspects are; 2 Television sets, 12 Wrappers, 6 Android phones, 1 iPhone, and 1 keypad phone.
Addressing the media while parading the suspects, the State Commandant Adamu Salihu hailed the people of Yagai for providing the timely information that led to the apprehension of the suspects.
He said other communities should borrow a leaf from the Yagai community in terms of providing timely information to security agencies for prompt action.
The Commandant called on the general public to be more security conscious especially now that parts of the state are experiencing prolonged power outages. A situation that has aided the heightening of criminal activities in the areas affected.
Commandant Adamu gave assurance that the three suspects paraded would be prosecuted immediately.
In a related development, the Rapid Response Squad of the Command has rescued one Auri Jalo 16 who was kidnapped alongside his brother Haruna Jalo at Mallam Ali town in Ardo Kola Local Government Area of Taraba state.
Auri was rescued by men of the RRS on patrol at Gullum behind the Jolly Nyame Stadium Jalingo, a well-known route of the kidnappers.
The kidnap victim, Auri, has been reunited with his family while the search for his brother is still ongoing.
