Hon Abubakar Bappa Zubairu former leader of the Sardauna Local Government Legislative Council on Tuesday denied all allegations levelled against him as impeachable offences, saying they are malicious, falsehood and unfounded and lacked prove.
Zubairu who is the councillor representing Mayo Ndaga council ward in the local government assembly said that the allegations were used as a gimyc by some of his perceived political opponents to auchastrate his removal as the leader of the council.
It will be recalled that Zubairu was removed based on the offences of incompetency, misappropriation of funds allocated for the offices of deputy leader and the majority leader.
Other offences are lack of transparency and the violation of the oath of office by leaking official secrets to the public.
Zubairu on his part said that no running coast had been given to him since he assumed the office as the leader of the council through our his stay.
He argued that he didn’t leak any official information to the public as aledged.
He explained that he made consultations to critical stakeholders on crucial matters that would affect the wellbeing of the people.
He regretted how lack of transparency and misappropriation would be levelled against him when Running Coast and other grants had not been allocated to him yet his colleagues would accused him of such offences.
He advised the public to disregard such falsehood and malicious allegations against his personality, pointing out the financial situation of local governments in Nigeria in general.
The former leader however, admitted that he resigned honorably as the leader of the house for peace to rain.
