Kano Newly deployed CP, Dogo pledges support to work for the interest of all Nigerians

The new Commissioner of Police Kano State CP, Salman Dogo has promised to work for the interest of all Nigerians and not for a single interest.

CP Dogo made his position known while speaking in his maiden interaction with journalists at the Police Headquarters Bompai Kano.

The Kano Commissioner of Police who acknowledged the challenges facing the state, including the resurgence of thuggery activities, promised to tackle them head-on.

“I assumed duty at a time when the State is a talk of the day and is confronted with spate security challenges; including the resurgence of thuggery (Daba) activities in some parts of Kano Metropolis. We have already developed an action plan that revolved around collaborative policing after carefully studying the trend of the crime pattern.”

According to CP Dogo, he will operate in line with the directive, vision and mission of the Inspector-General of Police, adding that, “Kano State Police Command under my supervision,” will be committed to creating a safe and more secure environment where residents, businesses and visitors can thrive, and flourish in the state.

To achieve this, CP Dogo said, the command has mapped out strategies to ensure peaceful Kano State.

“We will ensure Robust Community Policing Engagements, Synergy with Other Security Agencies and Community stakeholders, Use of Technology in Investigations and Operations, Professionalism and Accountability, as well as Strategic Communication in Public Enlightenment and Sensitization.”

While soliciting the cooperation of Kano citizens in addressing security challenges in the state, CP Dogo expressed readiness of the command foster partnerships and build trust in safeguarding lives and properties.

“The Command will remain committed to ensuring that policing services are community-oriented, citizens-centred, responsive, and transparent, we need the cooperation of all to succeed in this regard.”

“we can suppress security challenges, build bridges, and ensure that the Police serve as a beacon of trust and excellence.”

The Kano CP also, promised to support, guide and empower Officers of the Command and work together, to combat crimes, maintain law and order, and also ensure that peace and stability prevail in the State.
