The Accountant General of Nasarawa State, Rt Hon Dr. Musa Ahmed Mohammed, has dissociated himself from a group called Barade Youth Movement, Keana.
The group had unilaterally distributed exercise books to primary school pupils in Keana Local Government Area of the state without consulting or informing Mohammed.
In an interview with Journalists, Mohammed clarified that he was not involved in the group’s activities and did not authorize the use of his name or image for their endeavors.
The former two term speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly noted that such actions were sponsored by his enemies to tanish his image and distract him from delivering on his present assignment.
The AG who holds the title of Baraden Nasarawa also stated that his focus is on his current role as Accountant General, appointed by Governor Abdulahi Sule.
Mohammed urged the group to withdraw the exercise books from circulation immediately.
He warned the public to be cautious of individuals using his name for personal gain. The Accountant General emphasized his commitment to serving the state in his designated capacity.
While expressing his disappointment in the group’s actions, which he believes may have misled the public, Mohammed reiterated that he had no knowledge of the group’s activities until the exercise books were already distributed.
He called on the group to desist from using his name and image without his consent.
The incident has raised questions about the group’s intentions and their use of Mohammed’s name without his consent.
But the Accountant General’s swift response has cleared the air, and the public is now aware of his stance on the matter.
