Nigerian online Journalists have been urged to promote Development journalism for the prosperity of the country.

The Chairman Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission ICPC Dr. Musa Aliyu gave the advice in Kano at the Training for Online Journalists.
The training organized by the Commission has the theme, ‘Effective Reportage of ICPC’s Operations and initiatives’
The ICPC Chairman Represented by the Assistant Commissioner ICPC Hassan Salihu drew the attention of online journalists to verify information before dishing out for the safety and security of Nigeria.

He noted that, the agency found it necessary to partner with the online journalist so that they will be acquaint with the requisites of reporting the activities of ICPC objectively.
He Charged the online journalist to always maintain the ethics of the journalism profession ,and should not deviate from fair and just reportages for the development of the Nation.
Dr. Aliyu informed them of the operations of the ICPC which is geared towards ensuring the development of Nigeria by fighting all forms of corrupt practices.
The ICPC boss said, the commission is working in accordance with the law.
The Chairman of the Association of Kano Online Journalist (ASKOJ) Yakubu Salisu Commended ICPC for organizing the capacity building training for the online journalist.
He noted that Association was established in 2020 with the aim of bringing the online journalist together to achieve the set objectives.

“The ICPC, an organ of the Government saddled with the responsibility of Preventing Corruption in Nigeria and ASKOJ deemed it necessary to lend its support through this engagement where activities of the Commission in the state and nation at large will be publicized on various platforms for public awareness about successes recorded, the war against corruption in the country, challenges and strategies by the commission.”
Salisu urged the participants to make adequate Utilization of the Golden opportunity with a view to enhance their capacity in online reporting.
