The contracting firm, SCC has since moved to site and have started the reconstruction of the Bali, Gashaka Gembu Expressway.
SCC started the construction from Serti Baruwa in Gashaka local government to the mountainus areas in Sardauna local government in an attempt to make the road motorable, while construction proper begins on the other section.
The measures has continue to covered Serti, Mayo-Selbe, Maisamari with stone base spread on the bad portions to make traveling less stressful while the reconstruction is ongoing.
The Federal Government-owned road has been in a deplorable state for more than 20 years.
It was, however, handed over to the Taraba State government in 2008 by the President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration after previous efforts.
Governor Agbu Kefas had emphasized that bureaucratic bottlenecks stalled the reconstruction of the road.
