Gombe Fiscal Responsibility Commission seek signing of Open Government Partnership 2024-2026.

Gombe State Fiscal Responsibility Commission has presented the Gombe State’s Action Plan on Open Government Partnership (OGP) 2024-2026 to the State Government.

Making the presentation to the Secretary to the Gombe State Government (SSG), Professor Abubakar Njodi, Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Umar Bello Goro explained the importance of the plan and said it will greatly enhance good governance and benefit all citizens of the State.

The Chairman of the Commission, accompanied by members of the Commission including the Co-chair (non-State Actors) Gombe State Open Government Partnership (OGP) Dr. Bachama Yusuf, sought for the signing of the plan by the Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya as well as many other requests.

The SSG, Professor Abubakar Njodi, assured of immediate signing of the Plan in no distant time considering the importance of the plan for the enhancement of good governance.

Gombe State joined the Open Government Partnership (OGP) in July 2022 as part of it’s commitment to ensure accountability, transparency and citizens engagement in Governance.

The maiden OGP Action Plan 2024 – 2026 if signed, is expected to focus on three derivable commitment areas which include physical transparency, service delivery and citizenship engagement.

If signed and implemented, the plan will improve transparency in procurement process in the State; strengthen social protection system (poverty alleviation) as well as improve participatory budgeting processes.
