Speaker at the Taraba state College Of Education Zing Convocation Lectures, Professor Saleh Omar, Professor of Sociology, Federal University of Kashere Gombe state, said the Provost College Of Education Zing, Prof Ejika Sambo has taken the bull by the horns by putting graduating students of 1993 to date at the right part for organizing the first of it kind convocation for the passed 30years.
Prof Omar who is the guest speaker commend the resilience of the Taraba state Governor, Doctor Agbu Kefas for his free education policy in Taraba state and urged him to do more to move the state forward in the interest of development.
The guest speaker while at the lecture title his topic: “Patriotism Democracy and Good Governance As Veritable Tools For The Development Of Taraba State”
Prof. Omar further highlighted some key factor affecting Taraba state and their way forward.
Omar also speak about “Democracy and Good Governance in Taraba state since 1999 to date. He said since the election in 2023 political parties in Taraba state have not produced clean signs of increasing political maturity.
He said on the contrary what is evident is a continuation of manipulation of ethics, religious and regionalist sentiment.
Prof. Omar when further to speak on ” Politics and Structure of Government* which he talk about recruiting members, mobilizing and coordinating members for capturing Political power, Political Education, Acting as political pressure groups in opposition and Help to develop desirable policies.
He said Bad Governance and Corruption are the Root Causes of Taraba state Backwardness.
According to Prof. Omar, good Governance produces clarity of vision, equitable and inclusive participation of citizens in decision making and policy implementation and monitoring, ensures prompt and proactive response to problem and crises among others.
Also speaking at the occasion, Professor of Physics in ATBU, Muhammad Abdulazeez who is also a product of the College of Education in 80s appreciate the college management for coming up with good ideas to liberate students who have completed the college for over 30 years.
Earlier the Provost of the college Professor Ejika Sambo said the college organized the convocation for candidates of 1993 to date for them to meet up with the correct challenges in education.
He lauded the Taraba state Government for given them the mandate to carryout the excises.
