The Kano state Government has handed over the 76 freed minors to their parents who were allegedly arrested during the August 1st End bad governance in Kano.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf who received the minors after being pardoned by President Bola Tinubu, presented the children at an event in Kano after two weeks of medical rehabilitation.
He informed them that, the government will sponsor their Education while those who have completed their NCE will be offered Employment in the next recruitment Exercise as some will be given business start ups.
Governor Yusuf represented by the Chief of staff Alhaji Shehu Sagagi said, the State Government has given greater priority to Education, where 31 percent has been allotted to the sector in the proposed budget for the year 2025.
The Governor urged the minors to be good Ambassadors and the parents ensure closer monitoring of the children.
The Commissioner of Education Haruna Doguwa announced that, among the children who completed secondary and NCE will be giving employment.
He called on parents to monitor their children and ensure that they do not involve themselves into any Violent Protest.
The Chief of Field Office, UNICEF Kano Mr Michael Banda commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his remarkable leadership in prioritizing the rights and welfare of the children.

He explained that, UNICEF, in partnership with the Ministry of Women Affairs, Children, and Disabled Persons, has provided critical support throughout the rehabilitation process to ensure the well-being, safety, and reintegration of the children.
The UNICEF urged the Kano Government to Sustain the Use of Muhammadu Buhari Specialist Hospital as a critical Care Facility in the state.
Abdulrahman Bapoa Yola from Bafarawa foundation presented 50 thousand naira to each child in support of their education.
He urged them to remain good citizens and avoid being used by selfish politicians to cause violence during any protest.
The Director General Hisbah board Abba Sai’d Sufi, said within the period of their rehabilitation, the children were taught good morals and the reading of the Holy Qur’an.
Speaking on behalf of the parents of the Reformed Minors Nura Muhammad thanked Governor Yusuf and promised to be good Ambassadors.
