NSCDC Taraba State Command Parade Suspects Vandals

The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Taraba State Command, Anthony Bala Bitrus, recently paraded a group of suspects involved in various acts of vandalism.

The parade took place at the NSCDC Command Headquarters in Mile Six, Jalingo Taraba state.

According to Commandant Anthony, the arrests were made through a successful collaboration between the NSCDC Anti-Vandal Unit and the Nigerian Army.

Among those paraded were:

Abbas Aliyu (35) and Abdullahi Yusuf (20), who were apprehended at Bantaje, Wukari Local Government Area, in possession of over 108 pieces of vandalized NNPC pipelines.

Abubakar Ibrahim (25), Auwal Muhammed (22), and Umar Mustapha (27), arrested on December 20, 2024, in Jauro Manu, Ardo Kola LGA, for attempting to vandalize a YEDC transformer.

Ishaya Madaki (18), caught vandalizing power cables belonging to the Taraba State Secretariat, where he was working as an engineering assistant.

Shafi’u Yahaya (32), Ikira Dauda (25), and Umar Sani (15), arrested at a roadblock in Jalingo with a truckload of 37 pieces of vandalized NNPC pipelines. They confessed to removing the pipelines from Doruwa in Wukari LGA.

All suspects have admitted to their crimes and will face prosecution in court. Commandant Anthony urged residents of Taraba to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity around critical infrastructure to the nearest security agency.
