The Kano State Police Command has assured the public of its commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property during the festive season.

In a press statement, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, emphasized that the police would achieve this through collaboration with other security agencies.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo, has directed key officers, including Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Commanders, to provide robust security at worship centers and recreational areas.

The police will also implement continuous patrols, enhance traffic control, and expand intelligence gathering as part of the security measures.

The public has been cautioned to avoid suspicious objects and to be vigilant when attending places of worship.

Additionally, the police have prohibited unauthorized horse riding and banned the use of fireworks in the state.

The public is urged to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through emergency numbers.

In light of recent incidents involving youths blocking roads for social media content creation, the police have warned against such disruptions, which cause traffic congestion and pose safety risks.

The Command has called on parents to advise their children to avoid participating in such activities, stressing that such actions violate public order laws.

The police have pledged to take strict action against any highway obstructions and disturbances to public safety, urging the public to report such incidents to the police for prompt action.
