Signs N369bn appropriation into law

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has officially signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill of N369.9 billion into law, following its passage by the State House of Assembly.

The signing took place at the Government House, with the Governor highlighting that the budget would serve as a blueprint for economic growth and social development in the state.
Governor Yahaya emphasized that the budget reflects his administration’s commitment to advancing its development agenda, with a focus on sectors that directly benefit the citizens.

He praised the State House of Assembly for its swift passage of the bill and acknowledged the fruitful collaboration between the legislature and the executive since 2019, which has contributed to the state’s progress.
He further mentioned that the increased sectoral allocations would enhance healthcare delivery and social services, reiterating his administration’s dedication to effective resource utilization for the welfare of the people.

The Governor further stated that a performance report for the 2024 budget would be released in January, expressing confidence in achieving an “A” rating.
Earlier the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, explained that the legislature had increased the budget from the initially proposed N320.1 billion to N369.9 billion to better meet the people’s needs.

Rt. Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, commended the Governor for prioritizing capital expenditure, which constitutes 69% of the budget, aiming to drive infrastructure development and long-term growth in the state.
