Ilorin’s Transformation: Visitors Applaud Gov AbdulRazaq’s Urban Renewal Efforts

The transformation of Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, has become a highlight of the festive season, with residents and visitors praising Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s infrastructure and urban renewal initiatives.

The city’s improved road networks, clean environment, and modern infrastructure are being recognized by those from other states, including Faith Awofadeju from Kano and Abiodun Babatunde from Ibadan, who noted significant changes, especially around the Post Office area.

However, Engr. Onoja Olushola, emphasize the need for project completion to fully realize the benefits.

Despite economic challenges, visitors such as Mr. Adebisi Sunday from Lagos and Femi Raphael from Abuja expressed optimism about the economic benefits of the governor’s efforts.

They praised the visible progress and urged continued development. The construction of new roads and flyover bridges has improved accessibility, with residents and visitors alike feeling a sense of pride in the modernization.

The Kwara State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts, including the construction of rural roads and collaboration with the federal government.

Governor AbdulRazaq, at the 59th National Conference of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), outlined key projects like the Ilorin Smart City initiative and plans for a Kwara State University of Education.

These developments aim to boost economic growth while modernizing the city.

The president of the IEDPU also commended the administration’s efforts and urged further expansion, expressing confidence that the projects will transform not only Ilorin but all of Kwara State.

As the festive season continues, there is hope that the progress will be sustained, benefiting all residents and visitors.
