The Kwara State Police Command recently carried out a successful operation that led to the rescue of 13 kidnap victims.

NEWSPOINTER reports that the victims were abducted on December 21, 2024, by armed assailants while traveling to a wedding in Kogi State.
Our Reporter said acting on credible intelligence and supported by local informants, the police, in collaboration with the Oke-Ero Local Government Security Initiative, raided the kidnappers’ hideout in the Idofin-Igbana area.

The kidnappers, six in number and dressed in military uniforms, attempted to resist the rescue team with gunfire but were overpowered and fled, leaving behind the victims.
The 13 rescued individuals, including three females and ten males from various locations, were unharmed, except for two who sustained minor injuries and were promptly treated.

The swift operation culminated in the victims being reunited with their families.
Kwara State Commissioner of Police, CP Victor Olaiya, praised the efforts of the security operatives and the community’s support, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to combatting crime.

He also encouraged residents to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities using the police’s emergency contact numbers.
