Sen. Barau Lauded for Foreign Scholarship as Students Depart

The parents of students who were awarded scholarships for postgraduate studies in India have expressed their gratitude to Senator Barau Jibrin for the opportunity.

The commendations were made at the Aminu Kano International Airport as the students prepared to depart for India via Ethiopian Airlines.

Abdullahi Musa, a parent, expressed his joy, thanking Senator Jibrin for providing his child with the chance to study abroad.

He described the scholarship as an unexpected and life-changing opportunity, praying for the continued success and protection of the senator.

Rakiya Sheriff, another parent, shared her excitement, praising Senator Jibrin for the scholarship, which her son applied for online without any personal connections. She prayed for the senator’s blessings.

Abdulqadir Sheriff also expressed his appreciation for the scholarship and encouraged the students to stay focused on their studies while in India.

During the farewell at the airport, Senator Jibrin presented donations to the students and urged them to make both Kano and Nigeria proud.

He highlighted that the initiative was part of his efforts to address educational gaps and fast-track national development.

He emphasized the importance of human capital in advancing a nation’s growth and stressed the need for educational development, particularly in northern Nigeria.

The 70 scholarship beneficiaries, consisting of 65 males and five females, were selected from Kano State’s three senatorial districts based on merit.

The students expressed their commitment to their studies, and the scholarship programme is an initiative of Senator Jibrin through the Barau I. Jibrin Foundation.
