Prof. Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, the Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), has emphasized his commitment to people-centered service and community development.

During a recent meeting with media professionals in Ilorin, he reflected on his significant contributions to public service, including his selfless years of teaching at the University of Abuja, where he worked for seven years without pay. This experience, he noted, taught him patience and perseverance.

Prof. Sulaiman also recalled his tenure as Minister for National Planning under President Goodluck Jonathan, where he facilitated job opportunities for over 100 individuals from Kwara State in just 10 months.

According to Prof. Sulaiman, he provided support to students by purchasing and distributing more than 700 JAMB forms to help them pursue their academic goals.

He also hinted at a possible bid for the governorship of Kwara State in 2027, stressing his ambition to address critical issues such as youth unemployment and development.

While acknowledging the efforts of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in advancing infrastructure, Sulaiman emphasized the importance of sustaining these improvements through urban renewal and effective governance after 2027.

With a wealth of experience in both academic and professional fields, Prof. Sulaiman expressed confidence in his ability to lead Kwara State to new heights.
