Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bauchi City Chapter has once again showcased its commitment to community development through the successful execution of its “Impact a Baby with a Smile 2.0 Project” under the broader campaign, “Empowering Mothers for a Brighter Future.”

The event took place at Specialist Hospital and Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi, providing hope, joy, and support to newborns and their families, while also ushering in the new year.

The project’s convener, JC Akintunde Tajudeen Taiwo, President of JCI Bauchi City, highlighted the initiative’s alignment with JCI Nigeria’s 2025 theme, ‘Elevate (#Elev8),’ and JCI Bauchi City’s yearly mandate, ‘Empowered to Innovate and Inspired to Lead (#E2II2L).’

The initiative focused on celebrating life, supporting newborns and their families, and empowering mothers with essential knowledge and tools to raise their children effectively.

Through the event, gifts and cash were presented to the first baby of the year at Specialist Hospital, along with additional support to 10 other families at both hospitals.

JC Akintunde Tajudeen Taiwo expressed gratitude to the former leadership of JCI Bauchi City and emphasized the organization’s openness to collaboration with the government, philanthropists, agencies, and other stakeholders to continue supporting initiatives for the betterment of Bauchi State.

The initiative also featured an educational session on postnatal care, ensuring that mothers received valuable information to guarantee the health and well-being of their children.

Goodwill messages were delivered by JCI Ambassador Iliyia Kauta, the pioneer of the “Impact a Baby with a Smile” initiative, and Rt Hon. Aisha Adam Bappah, Deputy Speaker of the Bauchi State Youth Parliament.

Both commended JCI Bauchi City for its commitment to community service, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in uplifting the local community.

The beneficiaries expressed their appreciation for the initiative, with many acknowledging how the gesture brought much-needed joy and hope, especially in challenging economic times.

JCI Bauchi City’s dedication to serving the community was praised by all involved, with an emphasis on the lasting impact of their work.
