Dr. Yakubu Ali Garjila, the Provost of Taraba State College of Agriculture Science and Technology Jalingo, announced that the institution is set to launch degree programs.
This declaration was made during a visit from a team of inspectors from the University of Jos, which is affiliated with the college.
The planned degree programs include B.Sc. in Crop Science, Agricultural Extension, Management, and Animal Health.
Garjila highlighted the college’s expansion plans and praised Governor Agbu Kefas for his support, noting that 11 ongoing projects are being funded by the state government.
Prof. Nuhu Gwargwar, the team leader from the University of Jos, expressed satisfaction with the college’s readiness to implement these degree programs, though the team will submit a formal report to the university management for further action.
Earlier, Prof. Nicholas Nemessan, the Supervising Commissioner for Tertiary Education, reaffirmed the state administration’s commitment to supporting educational reforms and assisting the college in its academic growth.
The college, established in 1978 and recently renamed in 2023, continues to evolve as a key institution in the state’s education landscape.
