The Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) in Taraba State has officially endorsed Governor Agbu Kefas for the 2027 governorship election.

This endorsement was made during a flag-off ceremony for the payment and pay-rolling of 1,134 local government retirees in the state.

NUP’s state chairman, Alh. Mamudu Famlak Yaro, praised the governor for his priority on retirees’ welfare, noting that Taraba’s commitment to retirees’ well-being had earned it the third position in national ratings.

He commended Kefas’ transformative governance efforts, which have placed the state on the global map.

The chairman also addressed the controversy surrounding Comrade ElNathan Bila Auta, stating that Auta had never been a member of the NUP until now and that his pay-rolling marked the end of confusion about leadership within the association.

Other officials, including Hon. Abel Peter Diah and Mr. Andrew Dame, also acknowledged the governor’s efforts in improving pensioners’ lives, highlighting the swift pay-rolling of retirees and expressing gratitude for the governor’s actions.

In response, Comr. ElNathan Bila Auta thanked the governor for his attention to retirees’ issues and urged fellow pensioners to support Kefas’ re-election campaign for 2027.
