The Wukari Chapter of the Tiv Cultural and Social Association (TCSA) in Taraba State has expressed gratitude to the Tiv elders for appointing Zaki John Ikyo as the Ter-Tiv Wukari, the Tiv Central Traditional Leader of the council.
The association’s chairman, Mr. Aondo-Awase Tar, congratulated Ikyo for successfully navigating the rigorous selection process and urged him to focus on fostering unity among his people.
The statement praised the elders for their peaceful conduct throughout the selection process and highlighted the unanimous decision as a symbol of the growing unity among the Tiv people in the local government area.
The association emphasized the importance of unity, resilience, and commitment to development under Ikyo’s leadership, believing in his wisdom and ability to solve problems.
Additionally, the group warned individuals from outside Wukari who are using social media to stir unrest by falsely claiming to have been selected as the Ter-Tiv Wukari.
The statement called for such actions to cease or face the consequences from Tiv ancestors.
Zaki John Ikyo, who had previously served in an acting capacity, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and committed to supporting the government’s efforts while working towards peace and collaboration with all levels of government.
He also reaffirmed his loyalty to the Aku-Uka of Wukari, His Majesty Manu Ishaku Ada Ali.
