Bauchi Media-Based CSO Develops 5-Year Strategic Plan

Journalists for Public Health Development Initiative (J4PD), a Bauchi-based Civil Society Organisation (CSO), has initiated the development of its five-year Strategic Plan to strengthen collaboration with government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), implementing partners, and other non-profit organizations.

The Strategic Plan, accompanied by an Annual Operational Plan (AOP), is designed to provide a roadmap for implementing J4PD’s programs while aligning with its overarching goals.

Speaking during the opening of the Strategic Plan Development Workshop held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in Bauchi, the Executive Director of J4PD, Elizabeth Carr, emphasized that the workshop’s primary objective was to craft a comprehensive strategic plan that aligns with the organization’s vision, mission, and core values.

Carr outlined additional objectives, including, Identifying key priorities for J4PD’s programs and activities.

Establishing a monitoring and evaluation framework to track the impact of initiatives.

She encouraged participants to contribute actively, ensuring the document reflects diverse perspectives and expertise.

Delivering a goodwill message, Rabi Ekele, Bauchi State Team Lead of the USAID-funded State Accountability, Transparency, and Effectiveness (State2State) Activity, lauded J4PD’s efforts.

She highlighted the Strategic Plan as a crucial tool for securing donor funding and guiding program implementation to meet organizational objectives.

Similarly, Usman Muhammad, Director of Donor Coordination at the Bauchi State Ministry of Budget, Economic Planning, and Multilateral Coordination, praised J4PD’s innovative approach to reporting developmental issues.

He expressed optimism that the Strategic Plan would enhance coordination with implementing partners across the state.

Other CSOs commended J4PD’s advocacy work, particularly in sustainable development areas such as healthcare, education, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), gender and social inclusion, climate and environment, and empowerment.
