The Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) has called on the government, civil society, and all stakeholders to take meaningful actions to honor Nigeria’s fallen heroes and support their families, especially on this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
This was the statement by Comrade Auwal Ibrahim Musa (Rafsanjani), CISLAC’s Executive Director, the organization emphasized the need for tangible support and recognition for the families of deceased service members.
CISLAC’s advocated for timely payment of entitlements, empowerment programs for widows, educational support for children, and national recognition of the sacrifices made by fallen heroes and their families.
The statement urged collaborative efforts between civil society organizations and the government to ensure these families are not left behind. CISLAC underscored the importance of honoring the legacy of these brave individuals by addressing the challenges faced by their loved ones and ensuring sustainable welfare initiatives.
Armed Forces Remembrance Day, they noted, is not only a time for reflection but a call to action to uphold the sacrifices of those who have served the nation and to support the families they left behind.
