The Kwara State Government has reinforced its dedication to delivering quality and affordable healthcare services by inaugurating three regional offices for the Kwara State Health Insurance Agency (KWHIA). This marks a significant milestone in the state’s healthcare reform efforts.

The announcement was made by the agency’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Olubunmi Jetawo-Winter, during an inter-ministerial press briefing organized by the Ministry of Communications in Ilorin. Represented by the Controller of Finance and Accounts, Mr. Atobiloye Mufliu, Dr. Jetawo-Winter stated that the agency aims to enroll 250,000 beneficiaries from the formal, informal, and indigent sectors into its health insurance scheme.

“This initiative ensures that affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare services reach all Kwarans, irrespective of tribe or religion,” she noted. The newly opened regional offices, strategically located across the state’s three geopolitical zones, will enhance accessibility, enabling more residents to register and benefit from the scheme.

Dr. Jetawo-Winter emphasized the commitment of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration to the health and well-being of citizens, as evidenced by significant resources allocated to support indigent beneficiaries. To further boost service delivery, the agency has also conducted capacity-building programs for its staff, focusing on health insurance administration, digital literacy, and marketing.

Highlighting the broader impact of the initiative, Dr. Jetawo-Winter reiterated, “Kwara Care remains committed to improving health outcomes for all residents of Kwara State through effective service delivery.”

The Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bola Olukoju, commended the administration’s efforts, describing the media briefing as a vital avenue for government agencies to showcase their achievements. She praised Governor AbdulRazaq for driving development across various sectors.

This initiative is expected to advance the administration’s vision of a healthier and more productive Kwara State, ensuring no resident is left behind in accessing quality healthcare.
