The killing of a Nigerian Army soldier by a personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Nguroje, Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State, has prompted the formation of a joint intelligence team.

The team, comprising members from both the Nigerian Army and the NSCDC, has commenced an investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A source, speaking anonymously as they were not authorized to comment officially, revealed that the suspects are currently held at the 20 Battalion in Serti Baruwa, Taraba State.

The source added that multiple factors will be considered during the investigation to determine the actual cause of the soldier’s death, especially as conflicting accounts of the events leading to the shooting have surfaced.

It was reported that an NSCDC personnel allegedly shot and killed the soldier at a checkpoint in Nguroje, sparking concerns and demands for accountability.
