Describing the event as “a night of pride, inspiration, and recognition,” the governor celebrated the achievements of Kano’s finest, bringing together dignitaries from the military, academia, public service, engineering, and business sectors.
Among the honorees were top-ranking military officers, senior police and paramilitary personnel, and Federal Permanent Secretaries from Kano, whose leadership has significantly influenced national security and governance. Notable recipients included Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, Prof. Shehu Ahmad Said Galadanci, Dr. Nasiru Sani Gwarzo, Prof. Umma Abdullahi, and CP Hajiya Hauwa Ibrahim.

The gathering, attended by traditional rulers, religious leaders, and business magnates, fostered mentorship and collaboration aimed at advancing Kano’s development. The evening concluded with a formal dinner and cultural performances, showcasing the state’s rich heritage.

In his remarks, Hon. Muhammad Yusuf Jamu, Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Special Adviser to the Governor on National and International Relations, announced plans to institutionalize the awards as an annual event to promote unity, sustainable development, and economic prosperity.
The announcement was made in a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
