The Gombe State Police Command has announced the appointment of Mr. Bello Yahaya as its new Commissioner of Police. He takes over from Mr. Hayatu Usman, who has been redeployed to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Bello Yahaya, the 23rd Police Commissioner in Gombe, was previously the Commissioner of Police in charge of Courses at the Police Staff College in Jos.
A native of Shinkafi, Zamfara State, Yahaya began his career with the Nigeria Police Force on August 15, 1996, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP). He trained at the prestigious Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil, Kano. Over the years, Yahaya has served in various departments and formations across the country, and has also attended specialized courses, including at the National Policing Centre in the UK and the International Law Enforcement Academy in the U.S.

The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, urged the public to support the new Commissioner and continue their cooperation in maintaining peace and security in the state.
