The Faculty of Education at the Federal University of Kashere, Gombe State, recently honored its staff members for their significant contributions to public service. The ceremony celebrated faculty members who had been appointed to key government roles and those receiving new appointments within the university.
Umar Pate, Vice Chancellor of the university, expressed pride in the honorees, highlighting their dedication to both education and public service. “We are here today to celebrate not only your personal achievements but also the collective success of the faculty and the entire university,” Pate said.
Williams Aderommi, Chairman of the University’s Governing Council, commended the honorees for their exceptional leadership. He emphasized that their success was a testament to the university’s commitment to academic excellence and mentorship.
Among those honored was Dr. Mark Nyiste, Director of Research and Publications at the Benue State Public Service Institute, who recently received a new appointment. Nyiste dedicated his award to the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hycenth Iormem Alia, for the opportunity to serve the people of Benue. He also stressed the importance of collaboration between education and governance to drive meaningful change.
In her address, Barakatu Abdulahi, Dean of the Faculty of Education, noted that the ceremony highlighted the broad impact of the faculty’s work both within the university and in public service, thanking the Vice Chancellor and university leadership for their continued support.
The event showcased the influence of the Federal University of Kashere’s academic environment and the success of its faculty members in public service roles.
