The Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Council, Hon. Aminu Jauro Hassan, has officially launched a skills acquisition program aimed at empowering 500 women and youths in Jalingo, Taraba State. The initiative, carried out in collaboration with the Women and Youths Initiative for Moral Awareness in Africa (WAYMA-Africa), seeks to equip participants with valuable skills to foster community development.

In his opening speech, Hon. Hassan emphasized his commitment to inclusive leadership, stating that the program is designed to actively engage women and youths in the transformation of Jalingo. He urged participants to make the most of the training opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for personal and collective growth.
The training will cover a range of practical skills, including bag making, shoe making, poultry farming, and food catering, with a focus on empowering the participants to become self-reliant and contribute to the local economy. Hon. Hassan also called on the trainees to extend their full support to the trainers, ensuring the success of the program.

The Chairman commended the Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for his support and visionary leadership, which he said has been instrumental in the ongoing transformation of the state.
In a show of support, the President of WAYMA-Africa, Comr. Garba Hassan, along with his Taraba counterpart, Abdulrasheed Dala Yaweh, praised Hon. Hassan for the initiative and pledged to work towards ensuring the program leaves a lasting impact on the participants.

This new skills acquisition initiative represents a significant step towards fostering sustainable development and economic independence among the women and youth of Jalingo, with potential ripple effects across Taraba State.
