Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has inaugurated the 2025 Ramadan Palliative Distribution Committee, appointing Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka, the Honourable Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, as Chairperson.

During the inauguration, Governor Mohammed emphasized the importance of the Ramadan Palliative Distribution Initiative as a moral obligation to assist citizens during the holy month, particularly in light of the country’s current economic difficulties. He urged the committee members to act with fairness, justice, and the fear of Allah in fulfilling their duties.
Responding on behalf of the committee members, Commissioner Wanka expressed her gratitude to the Governor, assuring him of their commitment to ensuring fairness and equity in the distribution process.
“We will not take this responsibility for granted, and In Sha Allah, we will justify the confidence you have placed in us,” Wanka stated.

The committee includes several commissioners, heads of state agencies and departments, religious and community leaders, security operatives, and other key stakeholders. Since its establishment in 2023, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs has been responsible for overseeing all humanitarian distribution exercises in Bauchi State.
