Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has called for increased collaboration and mentorship among state executives and political appointees to ensure meaningful development in the state.
Speaking at a two-day retreat in Gombe, Namadi emphasized the importance of teamwork among commissioners, special advisers, technical advisers, permanent secretaries, and directors.
Governor Namadi urged all appointees to align with his 12-point agenda for the state’s growth, stressing that commissioners unwilling to work collaboratively with other officials should resign.
He also reminded permanent secretaries to strictly adhere to civil service rules and eliminate corruption from the bureaucracy. Additionally, he encouraged them to mentor directors and assistant directors to foster a supportive and efficient work environment.
Professor Murtala Sagagi, Director of the Central Bank, presented a paper on aligning leadership with the state’s 12-point agenda, underscoring the need for collective effort in achieving the state’s development goals.
He commended Governor Namadi for his commitment to transparency and accountability, which was evident in the open discussions and feedback encouraged during the retreat.
The details of the engagement were shared in a press statement by the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media Affairs, Hajiya Zainab Ringim.
