Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has been honored with the Award of Excellence by the Gombe Network of Civil Societies (GONET) for his outstanding leadership and dedication to inclusive governance in Gombe State.
The award was presented during the inauguration of GONET’s new leadership, with Chairman Ibrahim Yusuf highlighting the Governor’s significant contributions to the state’s growth.
Yusuf praised Governor Inuwa’s efforts in areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic policy, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of all Gombe residents.
“You have been identified as our Best Performing Governor, a distinguished personality whose contributions to the development of Gombe State and Nigeria have been exemplary,” Yusuf said.
In his acceptance, Governor Inuwa Yahaya, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, expressed his gratitude to GONET, dedicating the award to the people of Gombe for their unwavering support.
The event also featured a keynote lecture by Rt. Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, who stressed the need for stronger collaboration between the government, civil society, and citizens for sustainable development.
Additionally, GONET’s newly elected officials, including Ibrahim Yusuf (Chairman), Miss Wayas Becky (Vice Chairperson), and Maina Benjamin (Secretary), were sworn in, pledging to work together with stakeholders to further the development agenda of Gombe State.
