The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Iliya Umar Damagum, has called on Muslims to use the Ramadan fasting period to promote political unity and cohesion in Nigeria.

In his message marking the start of the 2025 annual Ramadan fasting, Damagum emphasized the importance of prayer, reflection, and selflessness, urging Muslims to focus on fostering peace and supporting the country’s development.
The message, issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Malam Yusuf Dingyadi, highlighted the need for political stability and unity in Nigeria, which continues to face significant security and developmental challenges.

Damagum also appealed to wealthy Nigerians to extend acts of charity beyond their immediate families to those in need, encouraging a broader sense of generosity. He further urged citizens to follow the example of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), who taught the profound benefits of generosity, particularly during Ramadan.
The PDP Chairman’s call seeks to inspire Nigerians to come together for the collective well-being of the nation.
