Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has laid the groundwork for significant development across all sectors of the state, according to Professor Joseph Albasu Kunini, one time Speaker Taraba state House of Assembly, now governor Kefas, Special Adviser on Policy and Strategy.

Kunini revealed that Governor Kefas has introduced a series of policies aimed at driving growth, with plans to implement them in phases. One of the most notable achievements is the increase in the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), which has surged by over 300%. – Kunini said.

Kunini expects this increase to eventually match the state’s allocation from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), a move that will positively impact the state’s economy.

In addition to financial reforms, the governor has taken steps to tackle illegal mining and deforestation, ensuring that the state’s resources are better managed for sustainable development.

The governor’s security improvements have also led to a safer environment, allowing farmers to return to their farms and address food shortages.

Kunini further highlighted the success of the state’s free education policy, which has provided relief to parents and allowed them to focus on other critical issues while ensuring access to quality education for children.

With the enhanced security and economic growth, Taraba has become more attractive to investors. Kunini disclosed that the governor is already in discussions with international investors, expressing confidence that the state will soon experience significant development.

“The development of Taraba is a collective effort, and everyone must contribute, even if it’s just avoiding unnecessary distractions to the government,” Kunini stated.

As the state continues to experience growth, Taraba residents remain hopeful for a prosperous future under Governor Kefas’s leadership.
