Ex-Taraba Agric Commissioner, Dr. David Ishaya, Mourns Father at 85

Dr. David Ishaya, former Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Taraba State and CEO of Blue Nile Suites, Jalingo, has announced the passing of his father, Ishaya Mading, who died on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the age of 85.

Born on October 9, 1940, Ishaya Mading was a man of service, dedicating his life to both religious and public duties. After attending the Christian Religious Instructor (CRI) program, he deepened his theological education at Kakulu Bible School (now Kakulu Theological Seminary) in 1972. Mading began his career as an evangelist, preaching the gospel and uplifting his community spiritually.

Mading later transitioned to public service as a health worker in Yorro Local Government Area, making significant contributions to grassroots healthcare.

His dedication to community development led to his appointment as the village head of Koking in Kassa Chiefdom, Yorro Local Government, a position he held until his death.

Dr. David Ishaya shared that his father passed away after a brief illness, describing his death as the end of an era for both their family and the Koking community.

Mading was widely respected for his leadership, humility, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people.

The late Mading has been laid to rest in Koking, the community he served for decades.
