The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has ranked the University of Jos highly for its exceptional commitment to efficient service delivery and integrity.

Following a comprehensive assessment conducted between May and June 2024, which reviewed various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies across Nigeria, the University of Jos was awarded a Substantial Compliance score of over 70%.
The evaluation, which utilized the Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard (EICs) and the Anti-Corruption Transparency Unit (ACTU) Effectiveness Index (AEI), highlighted the University’s operational excellence.
The ICPC’s findings revealed that the University demonstrated substantial compliance with ethical standards, achieving a “Very Effective” status on the Anti-Corruption Effectiveness Index.

This underscores the University’s strong framework for promoting ethical practices and integrity within its operations.
In a letter to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tanko Ishaya, ICPC Chairman Musa Adamu commended the University’s efforts and encouraged continued adherence to high standards for consistent service delivery and sustained trust.
The full report on the findings is available on the ICPC website for public reference.

Reacting to the recognition, Professor Ishaya expressed delight, praising the dedication of both staff and students.
He stated that the achievement is a testament to the collective effort of the University community and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability.
The Vice-Chancellor also assured that the University of Jos will continue to build on the momentum to enhance its service delivery and operational effectiveness.

In line with its dedication to transparency and ethical behavior, the University’s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACTU) has introduced several new initiatives.
These include the deployment of 30 suggestion boxes across campuses and the launch of dedicated contact channels, including a new email (actu@unijos.edu.ng) and phone numbers (09163786910, 08078569929), to facilitate confidential reporting of concerns.
ACTU is also working on developing a domesticated code of conduct for staff to further promote accountability and ethical conduct within the institution.

The University of Jos remains committed to not only meeting but exceeding the expectations of its stakeholders by ensuring the highest standards of operational transparency and integrity.
