AbdulRazaq Reshuffles Cabinet, Charges New Commissioners on Teamwork and Innovation

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has reshuffled his cabinet, swearing in Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe and Dr. Maryam Nnafatima Imam as new commissioners.

The governor urged them to embrace teamwork and contribute to his administration’s commitment to sustainable development.

In the reshuffle, Dr. Olohungbebe assumes leadership of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, while Dr. Imam takes charge of the Ministry of Social Development.

Other key changes include the redeployment of Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu to the Ministry of Tertiary Education and Dr. Mary Arinde to the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.

Lafia Aliyu Kora Sabi now oversees the newly created Ministry of Transportation, and Olohuntoyosi Thomas Adebayo moves from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to the Ministry of Livestock Development.

Dr. Afeez Abolore has been appointed as Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, and Abosede Olaitan Buraimoh takes over the Ministry of Solid Minerals after her tenure in Social Development.

During the swearing-in ceremony, Governor AbdulRazaq commended the new appointees for their competence and dedication to public service.

He described the reshuffle as a fresh phase that requires renewed commitment, integrity, and a clear vision for progress.

“Our administration has made strides in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social protection.

It is your task to build on these achievements and drive further growth,” the governor said.

He also emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation, urging the new commissioners to engage with the people and adopt creative solutions to address the state’s challenges.

Governor AbdulRazaq expressed confidence in the ability of the new commissioners to fulfill the administration’s development agenda and improve the state’s governance.
