The Kwara State Police Command has dismissed rumors alleging that fleeing bandits from Zamfara State have infiltrated Bani town in Kaiama Local Government Area. The police urged residents to disregard these claims, calling them baseless and aimed at inciting fear.

In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, emphasized that there is no credible intelligence or operational report confirming the presence of armed bandits in Bani or any other part of Kwara State. She described the reports as the work of mischief makers seeking to cause unnecessary panic.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Victor Olaiya, reassured the public that security agencies are on high alert and fully committed to safeguarding the lives and property of Kwara residents. He urged the public to verify information before sharing and to avoid spreading falsehoods.

Residents were encouraged to report any suspicious activities to the authorities using the emergency contact numbers: 07032069501 or 08125275046.
