Kano NUJ Distributes 450 Bags of Rice to Members for Ramadan

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kano State Council, has received 450 bags of rice from the Kano State Government for distribution to its members in celebration of Ramadan.

During the distribution event, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, emphasized that this gesture marks the beginning of improved welfare support for journalists in the state. He encouraged journalists to maintain unity and work cooperatively towards common goals.

Comrade Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Director-General of Media and Publicity to the Executive Governor of Kano State, was also present at the NUJ Secretariat to represent the state government. He commended the journalists for their continued collaboration with the government.

In his remarks, the Chairman of NUJ Kano State Council, Comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, expressed deep appreciation to the state government for the generous gesture. He assured that all efforts would be made to ensure every member benefits from the distribution.

This move underscores the state’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of journalists, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
