Federal Polytechnic Bali Holds Workshop on Performance Management System

The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Bali, Dr. Mohammed Usman, has officially opened a two-day workshop on the Performance Management System (PMS) aimed at enhancing staff performance.

The workshop, which took place from March 11th to 12th, 2025, at the institution’s Executive Lecture Theatre II, focused on educating staff on the significance and implementation of PMS, which replaces the Annual Performance Assessment (APA) in accordance with the New Public Service Rules.

Dr. Usman, in his opening address, stressed the importance of understanding PMS and urged staff to take the workshop seriously.

He emphasized that the knowledge gained would be instrumental in improving individual and organizational performance.

The workshop featured presentations from experts Mr. Oko Emmanuel and Mr. Bikom O. Edward, representatives from the Office of the Head of Civil Service.

They took participants through the principles of PMS, its benefits, and provided insights on how to set performance targets, measure progress, and evaluate outcomes.

Participants, including both academic and non-academic staff, engaged actively in the sessions, asking questions and sharing their experiences. Many praised the management for organizing a workshop that was both timely and relevant.

The workshop was organized by the Polytechnic’s Management in collaboration with the Registry Department, as part of ongoing efforts to build staff capacity and improve overall productivity.

The Acting Registrar, Alh. Umar Ibrahim Baba, Acting Bursar Alh. Abdulmuminu Barkindo, Acting Librarian Mr. Daniel Marke, Director of Academic Planning Dr. Yahaya Tukur, Deans of Schools, Heads of Departments, and other notable dignitaries were in attendance.

Dr. Yahaya Tukur, Director of Academic Planning, expressed his appreciation to the management, facilitators, and participants for contributing to the success of the event.

The 2-day workshop is expected to significantly boost staff productivity and efficiency, thereby contributing to the achievement of the polytechnic’s strategic goals.
