The West African Youth Congress (WAYC) has praised the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for its significant strides in combating terrorism, noting a decade-long decline in terrorist activities under his leadership.

In a press statement signed by Ambassador Mohammed Ahmed Marafa, Secretary-General/Head of Mission of the West African Youth Congress, the organization commended the President’s unwavering commitment to addressing Nigeria’s security challenges.
“The appointment of Malam Nuhu Ribadu as National Security Adviser has brought strategic leadership to Nigeria’s security efforts,” the statement read.
It further highlighted that under Ribadu’s leadership, security agencies have demonstrated remarkable collaboration and intelligence-sharing, which have been key in dismantling terrorist networks across the country. Ribadu’s approach, drawing from his extensive law enforcement experience, has revitalized counterterrorism operations and established a comprehensive framework to tackle both immediate and long-term security threats.

The WAYC also lauded the Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, and the entire military for their patriotism and dedication in protecting the nation.
“Insecurity hampers development, and young people are often the most affected by terrorism and instability. As a youth-based organization, the WAYC acknowledges the sacrifices of our brave security personnel and is deeply grateful for their unwavering resolve,” the statement continued.

The West African Youth Congress concluded by reaffirming its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote peace, security, and development throughout West Africa.
