Women members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have rejected the selection of the former Commissioner of Information.and Orientation, Lois Emmanuel, as the party’s Women Leader.

The decision of the party to impose her on the women in the state Congress that took place yesterday in the Jolly Nyame stadium was observed to have sparked discussions within the party, especially among the women.
Charting various songs of rejection, some of the women who spoke with media men in the stadium, tied their rejection of Lois to the apron string of her not being accessible.

Though the party went ahead to swear her as the party’s women leader, most of the women who bared their minds to our state correspondent vowed to distance themselves from her.
Some of the women who also vowed not to recognize her, urged the state governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, to as a matter of urgency insert the right peg in the right hole by replacing her with a suitable and more acceptable woman.

Speaking, the newly elected state chairman of the party, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, promised to carry all members of the party along.
Bawa, who vowed not to let the party down, said he will build a party that will assist the governor to catapult the state to the height.
Even when the Congress members from the national headquarters of the party described the Congress as free and fair, the women argued that the selection of the women leader was against their wishes.

All the elected executive members of the party, as noticed by The Guardian, were all unopposed.
The party women members who are now calling for her removal, said they will tread every legitimate part to ensure that she is removed as the party’s women leader.

Congratulating the newly elected executive , the state governor, promised to work closely with them in order to achieve the desired goal.
He also pleaded with the protesting women to exercise patience , vowing that their demand will be addressed as soon as possible.
