NILDS DG praises Kwara’s Sport Achievement.

The Legacy Football Club of Ilorin triumphed in the Amana Football Championship, securing a 3-1 victory over Eagles Star Football Club in the final.

The tournament, organized by the Amana Ajikobi Ward Youths in Sports, featured 16 football teams and spanned two months.

Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, the Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), attended the event as the special guest of honor.

Professor Sulaiman praised the efforts of the Kwara State Government under Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for their focus on sports development, particularly in enhancing sports infrastructure at the stadium complex.

He also expressed his commitment to institutionalizing the Amana Football Championship as an annual event to further promote youth engagement in sports.

Bola Magaji, the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, who represented the governor, also acknowledged Professor Sulaiman’s pivotal role in nurturing grassroots football and fostering community involvement.

This event marked a significant milestone in Kwara State’s sports development, showcasing the potential for future growth in the region.
